how does deforestation lead to decrease in water holding capacity of the soil

by deforestation water is evaporate very much and the rain caused pollution

yes because deforestation leads to land erosion which ,as the trees holds water and if we cut trees it would not be able to hold water so deforestation lead to decrease in water holding capacity of the soil.
