deforestation means less trees. so when trees are less even transpiration is also less which puts total pressure on evaporation for cloud formation reducing rains. on the other hand when there is rain and trees are less rainwater does not seep into the ground as the trees used to bind the soil with their roots and ultimately flows to form floods.

deforestation reduces rainfall as there is a loss in transpiration rate of plants which decreases humidity and hinders the proper formation of clouds. on the other hand it also affects floods as after cutting down trees the soil structure changes considerably and the soil is able to contain less and less water so even with a little bit rainfall floods occur.
