Democracy is a govt. of the people,by the people and for the people

*The citizens on the country elect their representatives. If the rulers do not work according to the wishes of the people the have the right to over through them. So democracy produced an accountable govt.

*In a democracy people elect their rulers if the representatives do not take care of the aspiration of the people and not attentive to the needs of the people, they cannot win the election next time .So democracy produce a responsive govt.

*Democratic govt. is legitimate in the sense it is elected by the people to the principal of universal adult franchise in fixed period. Parties get majorities in the legislative and it those lost it majority it has to resign
