(ii) When a number of people put their head together, they are able to point out possible mistakes in any decision. This reduces the chances of rash or irresponsible decision.

(i)In any society people are bound to have differences of opinions and interest. In a country like ours people belong to different regions, speak different languages, practice different religions and have different castes. 
(ii) The preference of one group clashes with those of other groups. Democracy provided the only peaceful solution to this problem. 
(iii) In democracy, no one is a permanent winner and no one is a permanent loser. Different groups can live with one another peacefully.

(i) Democracy gives same status to each such as rich and educated as well as illiterate and poorest members of the society.
(ii) The people rule themselves and hence they are responsible for their own conduct.
(iii) Democracy is based on the principle of political equality. Therefore, the poorest and the least educated have the same status as the rich and the educated.
