When the temperature of the atmosphere falls below 0° C it is called the dew point. This will takes the form of ice. This is called frost.

This frost is very harmful to the crops because ice form crystals in the cells of plants.

• These crystals form holes in the cells. These holes are called pops.

These are causing damage to the plant.

• Frost damage occurs when ice forms inside the plant tissue. It will affect the entire plant and reduces yield and production quality.

• When ice crystals form inside of the plant cells it causes cell injury.
