Cell differentiation is probably the most important aspect of human development. It is our cells ability to turn into different types so they can make up different tissues and organs. Without this ability our bodies wouldn't develop or function properly. A great example of this is cancer. It is the introduction of non differentiated cells into a certain tissue or organ. These undeveloped cells either develop into other non compatible cell types or just take up space. In either case they “"push out” healthy cells and lead to cell death and ultimately tissue/organ dysfunction.
