What Happens when NaCl is doped?
When the NaCl is doped with Sr+2 ,it forms solid solution.
Few Na+1 gets replaced by few Sr+2. And this Sr2+ chose the interstitial space.
Hence the doping i.e adding of impurities of SrCl2 changes the structure of NaCl.
thanks!

Of course , dropping of NaCl Crystal with SrCl₂ change its structure .
How , its structure goes to change ? Let's try to understand ,
When we add of SrCl₂ to NaCl Crystal yield solid solution where the divalent [ means valency of any substance is 2 ] Sr²⁺ ions occupy the sites Na⁺ ions and produce cation vacancies equal to the number of divalent {Sr²⁺} ions occupying inthe substitutional sites.
