Einstein was deeply in shock. His colleagues urged him to write a letter to the American President to tell him 'bout the impact of the destruction caused in the bombing event.

The Einstein wrote a letter to the American President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, on 2 August 1939.

In that letter, Einstein had warned the American President to tell him the effects and destruction caused by the bombing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945.

Following are the words extracted from the letter : -

"A single bomb of this type.... exploded in a port, might very well destroy the whole port together with some of the surrounding territory."

Einstein was deeply shaken by this destruction. But by this time, he wrote a public missive (given information to the public) in United Nations. He wrote the formation of a world government.

But this made no impact on the people like the letter which was written to the American President, Franklin D. Roosevelt.
