Electron gain enthalpy:-
- along the period:- increases due to which force of attraction between nucleus and incoming electron increases, and they have strong tendency to accept the electron and larger energy will be released. so electron gain enthalpy become more negative.
- down the group:- decreases due to which force of attraction between nucleus and incoming electron decreases and they have less tendency to accept the electron and lesser energy will be released. so electron gain enthalpy become less negative.
hope this will help you and marks it as brainlist plzzzzzzzzz also follow me guys.
