how does electron gain enthalpy very across a period in periodic table? out of oxygen and sulphur which has more negative electron gain enthalpy and why? ​

oxygen has more negative electron gain enthalpy due to it's small size, high electron density and inter electronic repulsion between the existing electrons and the incoming electrons.
