hey mate here is the answer....
Normally, FRC in normal lungs occurs at the lung volume where equilibrium between recoil pressures of the chest wall and lungs is achieved with therespiratory muscles at rest (long-dashed lines).
This is also called the resting volume.
Loss of lung elasticity due to emphysema in COPD reduces the lung recoil pressure.
