The energy flow in the living world through the means of Food Chain and Food Web and in unidirectional manner.

• Sun is the ultimate source of energy for all living beings.
• Plants, being the primary producer, or an autotrophs, prepare their food by the help of Photosynthesis and transports to its each and every part.
• Then comes the herbivores, which eat these green plant for their survival and their population depends upon these green plants. It includes not only the animals but the aquatic life also.
• Next comes the Carnivores, who depends upon the Herbivcores for their existence and thus help in checking and maintaining their population on the Earth. Carnivores include all the species which eat up other sppecies in order to maintain their exostence on Earth.
• Frogs, fishes and birds are the small carnivores whereas the tiger, lion etc are the big carnivore exists on the planet.
• Then comes the role of Decomposers. Decomposers helps in cleansing the environment by feed on the dead animals and releasing the energy back top the environment. It includes soecies like vultures, eagles etc.

Hence, this cycle continues and the energy flows in the living world.
