hello frnd,

--If you pour some dilute ethanoic acid onto some white sodium carbonate  there is an immediate fizzing as carbon dioxide is produced.

--and You end up with a colourless solution of sodium ethanoate.

reaction:

Ethanoic acid reacts with sodium carbonate to produce sodium ethonoate, water and carbon dioxide.

   2CH3COOH + Na2CO3 → 2CH3COONa + H2O + CO2

i hope it helps !!☺

24khanak: sorry you are wrong
24khanak: no water or carbon dioxide would be formed
24khanak: hydrogen will make an electrophilic attack on the slightly negative carbon
24khanak: and Sodium

C5H7COOH +Na2CO3 gives in presence of Dilute sulphuric acid H2SO4 CH3COONa( sodium ethanoate ) + NaHCO3 ( sodium hydrogen carbonate)
