Evolution is a very-very slow and gradual process.
This is a reason because our body can not bear any fast changes or nor do any modifications fast enough.
Although, Dolphins can adapt to things and do changes or I can say "evolution" is much faster in them.
It's depended upon the Brain - Our System's mastermind
Human's can actually use only 10% of their brain but Dolphins use 20% of their brain.
The very-very small changes that are made into our body are added in the information which our body contains in our DNA ( the genetic Structures which contains developmental information for our body like our appearance, adolescence etc. ) which our further developed and the information is transferred by Heriditary means.
Although Humans can use maximum 10% of their brain, all human's don't use the 10% too of our brain.
You can see this by an example: An Ideal beggar who just begs around the road and does nothing to improve him and the just opposite a business tycoon, an entrepreneur etc.
And the Echo System that the Dolphins use to locate things and their prey ( I cannot recollect the name ) is an example of Evolution, it developed in millions of years of Evolution.
The thing can be very clear from the chapter you have in class 10
