excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides can effect the aquatic life in the following ways:
a) when fields are irrigated the fertilizers are washed away and goes into several water bodies.
b) excessive use of fertilizers leads to the growth of weeds on the surface of the water body. these weeds use up most of the dissolved oxygen and affects the acquatic life.

Hey.

Here is the answer.

Excess use of fertiliser and pesticides effect the aquatic life as follows :

1. Fertilizers and pesticides can go to ground water and can contaminate it and survival of aquatic life comes in danger.

2. Can denature the nature of water and hence can change the chemical properties of the water which leds to disbalance the aquatic ecosystem.

3.Since fertilizers help plants grow, they also cause algal blooms in aquatic ecosystems and due to rapid decomposition of algae Oxygen level in water decreases.

4. Can change pH of water and hence the vital microorganisms can die because they are very reluctant to slight changes.

5. Leads to water pollution affecting aquatic life.
