The breathing organ called gills in the fish is covered by operculum.
The oxygen dissolved in water is taken in by the fish in its mouth which is then passed through the gills in a way that the blood in it picks up the oxygen and flow in the opposite direction for absorption.
Carbon dioxide gain is released through the gills.
Insects like cockroaches and earthworms have small spiracles in their body connected to trachea through which they take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide.
