The exchange of gases, oxygen for carbon dioxide, takes place between the alveoli and the pulmonary capillaries.  This is known as the pulmonary exchange, and is part of the overall process of respiration, or breathing as we usually call it.  So these capillaries are woven into the tissue of the alveoli, and the exchange takes place in the connective tissue between them.  It also helps to think of capillaries - any capillary

Answer: The oxygen enters our body through the wind pipe ( oesophagus ) and reaches the bronces in lungs. There it goes inside the lungs through bronces and reaches the alveoli. The alveoli is a sac made up of blood vessels and air. There the oxygen mixes with the blood vessels and the blood vessels carry it to different parts of the body. While coming the blood vessels carry corbondioxide and transfers it to another blood vessel in the alveoli . And then again that blood vessels carry the corbondioxide. At last the blood vessels stops at particular point and it transfers the corbondioxide to the windpipe. Then the corbondioxide comes out through the oesophagus. This process again continues .
