Mechanism of fertilisation :

  • Semen is deposited in vagina during intercourse.

  • Sperms swim upward and reach Fallopian tube through uterus.

  • Ovulation occurs and ovum is trapped by Fallopian funnel.

  • Ovum reaches Fallopian tube by peristalsis.

  • Sperm enters ovum with the help of enzyme hyaluronidase.

⚫Because only one ovum is released by human ovary in a month.

Hope it helps!!
