Explanation:

Fertilization occurs when pollen grains (male gametophytes) are carried by the wind to the open end of an ovule, which contains the eggs, or female gametophyte. There, the pollen grain develops an outgrowth called a pollen tube, which eventually penetrates to the egg cell within one of the archegonia.

Answer:

the pollen grain from anther gets tranferred into the stigma of the pistil( through any pollination medium) . then from the stigma the pollen grains travels through the pollen tube and enters the ovule through the finger like projections called filiform apparatus. it guides the entry of pollen grain into the ovule and release of male gametes. from there one of the male gamete fuses with egg and other fuses with polar nuclei. hence double fertilization takes place.
