Fertilisation is the process of fusion of the male gamete and female gamete

In plants, when the pollen grains containing the male gamete falls on the stigma(of same or different flower) , it gets nutrition from it. It develops a pollen tube which passes through the style. The pollen tube contains the male gamete , which moves towards the ovule- the part containing female gamete.

The pollen tube enters the ovule- through the micropyle and fuses with the egg .

The pollen tube contains two nuclei. One nuclei fuses with the egg and the other nuclei fuses with the secondary cell. Thus , fertilisation in plants is known as double fertilisation.

1) self pollination

2) cross pollination

both process involve fertilization

it occurs in female reproductive post called stamen.. were the male germ cells entered through anther from pollen tube to stamen.... and then start to ripen as per the time.....
