ANSWER:

In cold and fever our sense of smell affects our taste of foods as they are related to each other.

EXPLANATION:

When we chew our food, the smell of it passes through our nasal area. The hair cells present in the nasal area carries the smell associated information to our brain.

While having a cold the mucus of our nose fails to smell the food thus the information does not reaches the brain and we could not smell the food. Thus, our taste buds seem off to us.

While having fever, the increased body temperature affects our oral cavity. It causes dehydration resulting a dry mouth. This changes the taste of our food during fever.
