Fibre is an essential compant of a healthy dietry food. Fibre also called as roughage is the hard or the rough part of the plant food which is harder to digest by the enzymes of digestive system. How does fibre help in digestive system keeping healthy ?

Fibre has a lot benefits for the digestive system. It enhances the digestive ability that is it makes the functioning of digestive organ more efficient by increasing their adpative capability. Adaptive capability is the power to digest the food. The digested fibre forms a mesh in the digestive organs like stomach and small intestine. This mesh absorobs more water and liquids from food very easily. Also fibre which is left undigested forms the bulk type substance which helps in excretion of waste well. Actually this bulk substance gets accumulated in the large intestine where it is mixed with some liquids to make it more volatile. After becoming volatile they gather other excretery materials and thus helps in excretion.
