how does fire brigade works to extinguish fire ?

Fire brigade have mixture of foam and carbon dioxide. They spray it on fir by air compressor. As carbon dioxide reacts with oxygen it become heavier than oxygen and cut off the supply of oxygen and foam cool out the temperature and than fire is stop after some time.
