Fluoride ion is different from other halogen by the following ways:

1) Fluoride ion has a very small size and hence very small volume as compared to other halogens.

2) Fluoride ion has the highest electron density.

3) Fluorine has highest ionisation and hydration enthalpy.

4) Fluorine has the highest electronegativity in the periodic table (En = 3.99)

5) It is the most reactive non metal of the periodic table.
