The baby is attached to the mom by its umbilical cord and the placenta growing in mom's uterus. The mother's digested nutrients pass through the umbilicus into the baby's bloodstream just like they pass through the mother's bloodstream. There's no "eating" per se.

It reaches by an organ called placenta. It is a disk shaped organ with transfers food and other necessary nutrients to the featus. It  also transfers the excretion or the unwanted materials of the featus to the mother.
