╚» Floods cause more than half of the total damage and loss to crops which are also very vulnerable to storms and drought. Around 85 percent of the damage caused to livestock is due to drought, while fisheriesare overwhelmingly affected by tsunamis and storms such as hurricanes and cyclones

During a natural disaster, the crops get destroyed and the production of food decreases. It causes shortage of food in affected area. Thus, this leads to rises in the price of food grains which some people or poor people cannot afford to buy.
