Answer:
Forest support ecological system and moderate global climate.
Forests are the nerves of this planet through with fresh air is available. Forest cover is an important aspect in the study of ecological system in any country, as these house flora and fauna species in large number besides water fills. Today, forests cover is degrading gradually due to commercialisation taking the shape of deforestation. Thus, resulting into climate change or global warming.
Forests act as lungs by in taking harmful gases and releasing fresh air. They are vital part for human existence apart from flora and fauna dependencies. To chop forests affects weather conditions and disturbance to wildlife which is against nature and ecological imbalance.
Forests, particularly trees are considered as backbone of ecosystem and nature. Forests purify and filter the air by taking harmful gases and releasing fresh oxygen. Forests also attracts cloud and are a major cause of rains. All the animals depend on Forests directly or indirectly because forest are on the producer level of food chains. All herbivore depend on forest for food and survival and other meat eating indirectly depend on forest for survival as they eat the herbivore. Forest also reduce soil erosion by binding the soils to the roots of trees.
For Example - Sundarban forest (Famous for White Bengal Tiger) is home of many species. Herbivore of this forest depend on trees and plants for food. Other carnivore and omnivore depend on these herbivore. So, directly or indirectly all the habitat of an ecosystem depend on Forest. Because of Trees this forest has frequent rains also.
