Franz didn't like his French Teacher, M. Hamel. He didn't even know how to write french whereas it was his native language. M. Hamel always used to scold him for the same. But when Franz came to know that M. Hamel was leaving the school, where he taught since 40 years of his life, his attitude was changed towards M. Hamel. He was pity on M. Hamel. He was very ashamed of himself that he never tried to learn French while he could learn it easily. He realised that M. Hamel was totally right and wanted his favor.
