Reproduction process in pants takes place in their flowers(female flowers). The flowers are the organs of reproduction. The male flowers, known as the stamens, produce the pollen grains(male plant gametes) from their anthers. The female reproductive plant organ is known as the pistil. The pistil comprises of the stigma, style and ovary(which contains the ovules). The pollen grains from the anthers are carried to the stigma of the female flower by various mechanisms including wind in a process known as pollination. The pollen lands on the stigma, moves through the style into the ovary where they fertilize the ovules. The fusion of the pollen and the ovules is what constitutes fertilization in the plant. The fusion of the two gametes( female and male ) forms the plant zygote.
