Gaseous exchange in the lungs takes place between alveoli and blood capillaries. Alveoli transfer the oxygen to blood capillaries and blood capillaries move the carbon dioxide/exhaled air to alveoli.
Explanation:
Respiration is one of the crucial processes in our body which takes place with the help of the lungs.
The exchange of gases or respiration takes place in the lungs between the alveoli(alveolar spaces) and a network comprising of tiny vessels of blood known as capillaries. These capillaries are located inside the walls of alveoli.
Firstly, the inhaled air(i.e. oxygen) proceeds through alveoli to the blood present in the capillaries while Co2 advances from the tiny blood vessels to alveoli which will help in continuously sending the oxygen to the body and move out carbon-dioxide out of the body.
