How does global warming has emerged as a disaster for the world?

Global warming is basically when the earths temperature increases due to the increase of the carbon content in the atmosphere. This results in melting the polar ice caps and thus increases the water content in the oceans which will result to flooding of some coastal areas. So flooding of coastal areas is a disaster.
