Gravitational time dilation. ... The higher thegravitational potential (the farther the clock is from the source of gravitation), the faster time passes. Albert Einstein originally predicted this effect in his theory of relativity and it has since been confirmed by tests of general relativity.

the affect of gravity on time is called gravitational time dialation .it accurs when any massive abject distorts space time .note that gravity is not a force .
The general theory of relativity given by einstein mark out how, for both observers, the clock that is closer to the gravitationalmass, i.e. deeper in its "gravity well", appears to go more slowly than the clock that is more distant from the mass. It has the opposite effect of the relative velocity time dilation.
Gravitational time dilation, an actual difference of elapsed time between two events as measured by observers situated at varying distances from a gravitating mass. The stronger the gravitational potential the slower time passes. This has been demonstrated by noting that atomic clocks at differing altitudes.
hope it will clear ur quest
