How does guard cell regulate opening and closing of stomata pore?

each stoma is bounded by two half moon shaped guard cells. The guard cells regulate the opening and the closing of the stoma
When there is enough light and water the guard cells swell up and curve away from each other thus opening the stoma .This allows carbon dioxide to enter the cells of the leaf

The opening and closing of the pore is a function of the guard cells. The guard cells swell when water flows into them, causing the stomatal pore to open. Simillarly the pore closes if the guard cells shrink
