Question:-

How does heat transfer?

ANSWER

Heat transfer in three ways :-

1. Radiation - Heat radiation (as opposed to particle radiation) is the transfer of internal energy in the form of electromagnetic waves.

Example of Radiation  - Ultraviolet light from the sun, Heat from a stove burner, etc.

2. Conduction - Heat conduction is the transfer of internal thermal energy by the collisions of microscopic particles and movement of electrons within a body.

Example of Conduction  - Touching a stove and being burned, Ice cooling down your hand, etc.

3. Convection - Convection is the movement of heat because of the movement of warm matter.

Example of Convection  - Heating Water on the Stove, A Hot Air Balloon, etc.
