how does human stomach digest cellulose?

human are unable to digest cellulose because the appropriate enzymes to break down the beta acetel linkage are lacking .

Humans do not have the ability to digest the cellulose but as in ancient times they use to eat plants as well so they have the ability of digesting the cellulose with the help of appendix but as the time changed the work of appendix became short so well it's size also became small now human body cannot digest cellulose...
