how does illiteracy help to increase population growth rate?

In countries with low literacy rates, women are on average even lower due to cultural preference towards an educated male.
Girls grow up to become housewives because they can’t be employed.
Housewives have more children on average, because of lack of knowledge about reproduction and their greater time at home to raise kids.
Children enter a low income household, where boys are favoured to be educated, starting at 1. Again.
If education was equal and thorough:
Both girls and boys are educated fully.
Girls also grow up and go to university or become employed.
They marry later, and due to their careers have less children on average. If not employed, their greater education often reduces their fertility rate due to knowledge of reproductive science.
Their children will enter a middle income household where they will also recieve education irrespective of gender.

Societies with high illiteracy then to have many extremely poor households with subsistence farming the only economic activity. They need many hands for their primitively worked farms, and children mortality rate is high, so they have many in order for some to survive. This situation is quite difficult to relate with intuitively for someone living comfortably enough to use Quora, but, sadly, it exists out there in far too many countries.
As soon as basic existential security is assured and children have good chance of surviving into adulthood, the fertility rate falls.
