Answer:

India did not declared Hindi as a national language as only 40% of the total population has Hindi as their mother tongues..

India has diverse cultures and languages..So the Indian constitution declared 21 language as shecdule language s and allowed all official work can take place in their respective State languages..

Like Srilanka declared Sinhala as an official language and disregarded Tamilians...India have equal respect to all the languages of the country....

Hope!!!! this helps you

Regards !!!

Answer:

Hindi is not imposed on states where people speak a different language. The flexibility shown by Indian political leaders helped our country avoid the kind of situation that Shri Lanka finds itself in. ... In 1956, an Act was passed to recognize Sinhala as the only official language, thus disregarding Tamil.
