In solid state, intermolecular forces are very large as molecules are very tightly packed. In liquid state, intermolecular force of attraction is less than solids as molecules are loosely packed or as intermolecular spaces in liquids are larger than in solids. In gaseous state, intermolecular forces are negligible as intermolecular spaces are very very large as compared to solids and liquids..hope it helps!!
