Ans.
Pancreatic juice is a liquid secretion, synthesized by the pancreas and helps in digestion of food. It is compose of a variety of enzymes, along with enzymes that help in digestion proteins. These enzymes include eleastase, trypsinogen, carboxypeptidase, and chymotrypsinogen.
The alkaline pH (7-8) in the small intestine is due to secretion of bicarbonate ions from pancreas. These ions neutralize the acidic pH of food that comes from stomach and makes alkaline pH, required by the enzymes of small intestine.
