how does jhon lennon make a cosmopolitan approach in the song imagine?
Answers
Answer:
John Lennon is undoubtedly one of the greatest songwriters in history and 'Imagine' remains the most iconic and popular peace anthem amongst Beatles' fans.
The song has great insightful lyrics accompanied with an equally beautiful melody.
It was written and performed in 1971 during the Vietnam War. Lennon, in the song, imagines an ideal world without boundaries, religions, possessions, etc and in which all the people will live happily. Dividing people on the basis of countries and regions is wrong. The poet thus wants us to imagine a world without such dividing forces, then no person would die or kill and thus, all the people will be living their lives in peace.
"You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one"
What Lennon tries to put here is that others might call him to be a hopeless dreamer, but he knows he's not the only one who hopes for a better tomorrow- who wishes for a change and calls out to all war-mongers to join him and celebrate peace- which is after all a celebration of humanity!
So does John Lennon in his song 'Imagine' make a cosmopolitan approach?
You decide :)
Peace ✌️
