How does kinetic energy change if mass is doubled?

Kinetic Energy formula : 1/2mv^2

If mass is doubled ,

K.E = 1/2(2m)v^2

2 from denominator of 1/2 and 2 from 2m will cancel to give

K.E = mv^2 and not half of mv^2
