AUGUST WEISMANN REMOVED THE TALES OF MICE FOR THE 21ST GENERATION BUT FOUND TO BE NORMAL SIZED TAIL IN 22ND GENERATION.SO HE CONCLUDED THAT ONLY THOSE TRAITS ARE TRANSFERRED WHICH ARE PRESENT IN THE GERM CELLS.

Weismann did an experiment by cutting the tail of the mice for 21 generation but still on the 22nd generation the mice have tail. So he concluded that only those changes which occur in the germplasm are heritable, changes occuring in the body(somatoplasm) due to environmental effects are not inherited.
