Heyaa friend your answer is here check it out :-

When the ground is heating and becomes a lot of hot then the warm air rises and expands. Due to the rising of air the water vapour cools up above in the cloud and then the cloud becomes bigger and bigger. The temperature above becomes cold and then the water vapour and water contained in the cloud changes and turned into ice. Now the cloud changes into a thunderstorm. Small particles of ice bump into that big cloud and a charge is made. The heavy negatively charged particle come downwards and light positively charged particles go upwards. When the particles which are charged are increased in number we see it as a spark.

Hope this helps......

Lightning occurs die to accumulation of charge that is electron as a storm grows electric charge builds up on the cloud at the same time the opposite charge proton is growing on earths surface as you know opposite charges attract each other and due to large nos. Of charges this attraction grows quickly at the same point the attraction become large enough to overcome the air resistance to electrical flow these particles move.at each other with incredible speed and crash creating a spark this big spark of charged particles make a lightning occur
Each spark of lightning.has potential difference of 10 billion volts!!!
