In 'The Prince', 'Machiavelli' advises that a prince should analyze his actions wisely and always secure his power (use of word seizing power). With ‘benefits’ he mean that by calculating his deeds, manipulation and giving benefits to his subjects, they would forget about the wicked and cruel deeds of the Prince. And, Prince can support his subjects better. The prince should provide his subjects stability and governance.
Cruel words and connotations are neutralized with and positive language in the passage.
