Meristematic tissue differ from permanent tissue as it continues to grow and divide throughout its lifetime by division of meristematic cells whereas in permanent tissue the cells stops dividing after particular period of time.

Hope it helps....

And also example of permanent tissue is phellem ( cork cambium)

Meristematic tissues donot provide structural durability whereas permanent tissues provide.

Meristematic tissues are made of living cells whereas the other one is made of dead cells.

the marriage sematic tissues are responsible for the growth of plants by conducting continuous cell division but the permanent cells are differentiated to perform like permanent tissue while losing capacity to divide, as we know growth in plants has a pattern specialised of some plants and when a cell change its shape size and metabolism to perform a new role process is known as differentiation meristematic tissues is converted into permanent tissues the meristematic tissues are of three types on the basis of their site where they are found apical meristematic tissues second intercalary third lateral
