1. The seasonal alteration of the wind systems and the conditions which are associated with it provide a rhythmic  cycle of seasons. Even the uncertainities of the rain and the unequal distribution of rainfall are very much typical of the monsoons.
2. The Indian landscape, its animal and plant life, its agricultural calendar and the life of the people (which includes their festivities) revolve around this phenomenon. Year after year, people from different parts of India (from North to South and from East to west) eagerly await the arrival of the monsoons.
3. These monsoon winds bind the whole country together by providing water to continue the agricultural activities. Even the river valleys which carry this water unite as a single river valley unit.
