role of digestion in mouth :

the saliva in the mouth makes the food wet ,smooth and makes it easier to digest

the saliva contains an enzyme called salivary amylase that breaks down starch which is a complex molecule to give simple sugar

teeth helps in digestion by crushing the food into small pieces .so it can be easier to enter into the alimentary canal
