How does Mrs. Fitzgerald reform the spoilt family members of Mrs. Pearson ?
Answers
Answer:
Mrs Fitzgerald, a determined lady and a fortune teller who lives in the neighbourhood , helps Mrs Pearson by exchanging bodies with her and by dealing with her family. Mrs Pearson's personality exhibited a number of changes post the exchange in personality. She became domineering in attitude, assertive and vocal when it came to presenting her opinion as well as straightforward. The first thing she does after the exchange is light up a cigarette and lay out cards for patience on the table. This shocked Doris because it was uncharacteristic of Mrs Pearson to do so. She adopts a cool and incisive manner of speaking and states the truth with unflinching candour. She does not refrain from an argument, cuts people short if she finds them speaking nonsense and also puts people in their place for stepping out of line. Her manner of speaking seemed to be aggressive and quite the opposite of the original Mrs Pearson who was docile and diminutive. She neither prepares supper nor does she iron the clothes. When the three receive such harsh treatment, and see her sitting back and not doing the household chores, they feel helpless. They realise that their lives are absolutely incomplete without Mrs. Pearson.
