Land surface temperature (LST) is defined by the International LST and Emissivity Working Group as a measure of how hot or cold the surface of the Earth would feel to the touch.
Solar radiation Heat both water and land but water reflect the radiation but the land absorb the radiation so it become hotter. The land absorb's much of the sun's energy as well. However water up heat much more slowly then land and so the air above the land will warmer.
