Secondly, I think this is from The book 'First Flight' chapter 2 "A Long Walk To Freedom" Page 2

Nelson Mandela mentions that on that precious day, which is 10 May, 1984 , all the high officials and reputed people have gathered together in the amphitheater to depict their loyalty and support to Mandela. On that day, in the amphitheatre, Mandela would be honoured with the title of the President of South Africa and South Africa would be free from the clutches of the system of Apartheid . in this way, Mandela depicts the significance of the amphitheatre that day .
